This is our favorite recipe for those cold nights of winter. Like all my recipes, I experiment with them until I find out how to make them easy, with natural ingredients and tasty. Ingredients

  1. Chili
  2. 1 tbspvegetable oil
  3. 3 lbs90% ground beef
  4. 10 oz(1 medium) onion, chopped
  5. 10 oz(1 large) red or yellow pepper, chopped
  6. 3 clovesgarlic, peeled and minced
  7. 4 tbspWorcestershire sauce
  8. 4 tbspchili powder
  9. 2 tspground cumin
  10. 2 tsporegano
  11. 1 can (15.5 oz)dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  12. 1 can (15.5 oz)cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
  13. 24 ozcrushed tomatoes
  14. 1/8 cupsugar
  15. 1 bottle (12 oz)beer
  16. Possible Toppings
  17. Sour Cream
  18. Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  19. Oyster Crackers
  20. Saltines

Cooking Instructions

    Use large stew pan.

    Heat vegetable oil on medium-high, brown the ground beef, 8-10 minutes. Add salt to taste.

    Add chopped onions, peppers, and garlic. Cook, stirring, 3-5 minutes.

    Add Worcestershire sauce. Cook 3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Reduce heat to medium. Stir in chili powder, cumin, and oregano. Cook 5 minutes.

    Reduce heat to low. Add kidney beans, cannellini beans, crushed tomatoes, sugar, and beer. Simmer for 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.

    Serve and garnish with sour cream or cheddar cheese.
