Ingredients

1hr
10 servings
  1. Preheat oven to 275°F
  2. 1Deep sided pan. I use a loaf pan
  3. 3-8Garlic bulbs or 1 bag peeled Garlic Cloves (You can find it at Sam’s Club)
  4. Vegetable oil
  5. White wine or white cooking wine
  6. 1tiny pinch of Sugar

Cooking Instructions

1hr
  1. 1

Clean off any excess layers around the bulbs. Cut the tops off the bulbs so that most of the cloves are exposed. Place the cut bulbs into the deep sided dish.
(Or just place the pealed garlic cloves into a the dish and continue)

  2. 2

Add a good drizzle of vegetable oil to coat the cut ends (or peeled cloves)

  3. 3

Add white wine to lightly cover the bottom of the pan. This helps steam, soften, and caramelize the garlic while adding flavor. You can also subst chicken broth.

  4. 4

Cover dish with foil and roast in a 275°F oven for 50 mins.

  5. 5

Uncover the pan, mix, add a small pinch of sugar to the top (optional).

  6. 6

    Turn oven to high broil.
Brown the garlic to desired caramelization.

  7. 7

Peel the cloves from the bulbs.
Serve immediately or place cloves in a lidded jar. Cover with oil of choice, freeze, or keep it in the fridge up to 2 weeks. ProTip: freeze it in small portions.
