Joshua's Scalloped Potatoes

My youngest son, who never showed any interest in cooking until he moved out on his own made this for me and my wife while visiting one weekend. I think it is great.
He also made incredible lamb chops as the main dish.

My youngest son, who never showed any interest in cooking until he moved out on his own made this for me and my wife while visiting one weekend. I think it is great.

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°.

Butter a medium sized casserole dish.

Thinly slice potatoes. (A mandolin works great set at 1/8 inch)

Place a layer of potatoes in bottom of casserole
- 5
Season potatoes with salt, pepper and optional Thyme if desired.

Sprinkle some of the cheese over potatoes

After two layers of potatoes, cheese and seasoning add a light coating of the heavy cream until barely covered.

Continue to layer potatoes, seasoning, cheese and cream until all the potatoes are in the dish and the top is covered with cheese.

Pour more heavy cream over the top layer of potatoes and cheese until barely covered in cream.

Bake uncovered at 400° for 50-60 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked through.
