Bhaja Moong Dal (Roasted Moong Dal)

Dry roast the moong dal on medium flame. Once it turns pinkish brown in colour transfer it to a pressure cooker, add a cup of water and pressure cook for 2 whistles.Once done remove from the stove and keep aside.

In a separate pan add the ghee and let it melt. Add the jeera and the dry red chillies.

Once the jeera starts spluttering and the dry red chilli becomes dark in colour add the cooked dal.Add 1tbsp sugar, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder,2 cups of water and let it simmer for 10 to 15 min on medium flame.

Once done remove from the stove and serve hot with steamed white rice.
