An interesting twist by me to the famous Breakfast from down South. A classic South Indian breakfast well known to every Indian. Wherever they are in India, people love this super yummy Breakfast and make it too. It is a much sought after option for many. Now a days, there are many variations being introduced. Dosa is a traditional Breakfast idea and is super duper awesome with my idea of serving it alongside sweet and creamy Aamras.

Tradition meets innovation in this easy and simple innovative idea by me. It's absolutely a sure shot win. And a great way to enjoy a weekend morning with this amazing twist. Nothing much complicated at all. Children would definitely love it by all means.
And not only that, it is way too delicious too.
Aamras made with sweet and yummy varieties of Mangoes available in the Indian markets lends an altogether unique twist to the whole dish.

Alphonso, Kesar, Banganpalli, Sindhura, Dasehri etc can be used for making creamy and luscious Aamras to pair with one of the most loved Breakfast from South India. I had made them a bit crispier as loved by my family. You can do it according to your own choice of course and relish it on any given day until the Season of the King of Fruits lasts.
Enjoy Cooking with Zeen!

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

Soak rice and dal separately for 5-6 hours. Next day give it a light mix and if the batter looks very thick, then add some water. Also stir in some salt as well. Heat a heavy iron griddle or a non-stick dosa pan.

  2. 2

Pour a ladleful of the batter in the centre and spread it in a clockwise motion. Drizzle ghee or oil on the edges of the dosa and a little on top of it. On a medium flame, cook it until crisp.

  3. 3

Make all in the same way and store the leftover batter in the refrigerator for later use.
Serve this alongside yummy aamras for a lovely twist. Yum!

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
