Ingredients

20 minutes
4 persons
  1. 30 mloil
  2. 1/2 tsprye
  3. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  4. 1 tspgota urad dal
  5. 1 tspchana dal
  6. 4green chillies
  7. fewCurry leaves
  8. 1chopped onion
  9. 1/2 tspgrated ginger
  10. 1/2 cupMixed vegetables finely chopped (beans, carrot, cauliflower and potato)
  11. handfulBlanched green peas
  12. As requiredSalt to taste
  13. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  14. 1/4 tspsugar
  15. 1 cupchiwda washed and strained
  16. as requiredJuice of half lemon
  17. handfulFried Peanuts
  18. handfulChopped coriander leaves
  19. as requiredFarsan/ mixture topping

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Heat a kadhai with oil. Splutter rye and cumin seeds. Add chana dal, urad dal, fresh green chillies and curry leaves.
    Next add chopped onion and grated ginger. Saute for some time.
    Next add the chopped vegetables and the peas. Add salt needed for the vegetables. Add turmeric powder. Cook till vegetables are softened.

    Next add the chiwda.

    Add salt as needed. Put sugar and mix gently. Squeeze half a lemon.
    Give a nice gentle mix.

    Add chopped coriander leaves and mix. Finally add fried peanuts and mix.
    Ready to serve!!

    Take chiwda upma on your plate.put farsan/ mixture.sip chai and enjoy!
