Are you tired of eating the same plain old yam? Try this amazing indigenous Yoruba recipe for yam porridge

Peel the yam and cut it into little cube sizes. Place in a bowl.

With the groundnut oil, fry the tomato sauce/ paste on a low heat.

Add salt, pepper, shrimps and any additional seasonings of your choice

Fry together for about a minute or two, then pour in a bowl of water

Stir the mixture, check taste and add the yams.

Cook until soft then add the palm oil

Cover and let it cook for another 3 to 5 mins

Use a turning stick (or whatever can do the job) to mash the yam together

Add the scent leaves and cover to let it simmer

Then stir the porridge together.

Serve hot with fish or meat or whatever you think is best
