Score a cross on the top of the tomatoes. Boil a pot of water and add the tomatoes, then turn off the heat.

Finely chop the onion and garlic. Remove the tomatoes, peel, and dice them. Chop 1/2 of the basil leaves.

Heat oil in a pan and sauté 1/2 of the onion until translucent. Add 1/2 of the diced tomatoes and cook until dry. Add rice wine and cook on high heat to evaporate the alcohol. Add basil leaves and minced garlic, then blend into a puree using a blender.

Heat oil in a pan and cook the ground pork on high heat until slightly browned and the moisture evaporates. Add the remaining chopped onion, diced tomatoes, and minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant. Add the tomato puree, a little water, Italian seasoning, and chopped basil. Cook for 25 minutes.

Before serving, taste and adjust with salt and pepper.
