Wash and chop snake gourd in small pieces.

In a kadai add oil.let it heat well, add mustard.wait for it to splutter well. Add urud dhall.let it change colour add chopped snake gourd.

Add turmeric powder, salt as per taste and sprinkle water.mix well and cook on a medium flame.

Once snake gourd cooks well.add grated coconut, curry leaves and mix well.

Switch off the flame and serve Podalangai Poriyal with rice sambar/ chappati and enjoy.
