Sweet and Salty Stir Fried and Simmered Daikon Radish and Konnyaku

I cut up the ingredients into small pieces so that the kids can eat it, and the results turned out great.
Try to make it ahead of time if you can. If you let it cool down once the flavors will penetrate better and the dish will become more delicious. For 3 servings. Recipe by Shi-447

Steps
- 1
Cut the daikon radish into 2 cm cube. Microwave for 2 to 3 minutes to save time.
- 2
In the meantime, prep the konnyaku. Bash it evenly with the back of a kitchen knife to tenderize.
- 3
Score the surface of the konnyaku in a crisscross pattern. Cut into cubes, or rip into pieces with a spoon or your hands. Boil in water, or cover with water and microwave for a few minutes.
- 4
Stir fry the daikon radish in sesame oil. When the radish pieces have started to become transparent on the outside, add the konnyaku. Stir fry to coat all the pieces with oil.
- 5
Add the dashi stock. When it comes to a boil add the sugar and mirin, and simmer for about 3 minutes. Add the soy sauce, and simmer until the liquid is almost gone.
- 6
Add some shichimi spice to taste, transfer to serving plates and it's done.
