This Plum Cake is a deliciously light, fresh and flavourful dessert that is super easy to make. Packed with delicious Summer Plums (especially used your homegrown plums like me😍), this Plum Cake is perfect for afternoon tea or dessert!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 8-inch springform pan.

Combine sugar and butter in a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, and beat well after each addition. Add vanilla extract along with plain yogurt and mix well.

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl and sift on top of the butter mixture add ground almonds mix to combine. Transfer batter into the prepared springform pan and smooth out.
Set plums inside batter, lengthwise and sprinkle evenly with demerara sugar.

Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 30 - 35minutes. Serve warm or cool to room temperature. Serve with cream or whipped cream.
