In a mixing bowl soak all the above dal for 2 hours and brown rice in other bowl for 5 hours. It takes more time to soak. In a mixer jar add green chilli, garlic cloves and all the dal above and water as required, and grind, till it becomes a smooth paste.

In a mixing bowl add the wet brown rice flour, and dal mixture and mix well. Now add salt to taste, asafoetida, turmeric, red chilli powder, and mix it.

Now add handful of chopped coriander leaves to it mix well. Add water as required to adjust its consistancy.

Heat a pan or an tawa. Grease it with some oil. Pour 1-1/2 ladle of batter on it and spread. Once cooked from bottom grease the top part of chilla with oil. Flip and turn the chilla and roast the other side of it.

Serve hot with tomato ketchup and Mint chutney.
