This dish was always my birthday dinner request when I was growing up! My mother didn’t make it as often as I would have liked, so I made sure she did on my birthday! 😍

This dish was always my birthday dinner request when I was growing up! My mother didn’t make it as often as I would have liked, so I made sure she did on my birthday! 😍

Put the flour, salt and pepper into a large ziplock bag (gallon size) and shake it all together until well blended. Add raw beef cubes to the bag and shake until all pieces are coated with the seasoned flour.

Heat olive oil in a pan and add the coated beef. Brown the beef for about 2 minutes.

Put the chopped onion, bouillon cubes, hot water and wine into the crockpot and stir until bouillon cubes disintegrate and it’s well combined. You could substitute 2 cups of beef broth for the water and bouillon cubes. I just always have bouillon readily available in my kitchen.

Add the browned beef to the crockpot and mix well. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 4 hours.

Prepare egg noodles according to package directions and, when finished, serve beef stroganoff over the egg noodles.
