Easy Crusty Bread with psyllium husk
Quick easy bread that is delicious
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Combine about 3 1/2 cups of flour with the remaining dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add warm water and honey.
- 2
Knead until it is no longer sticky, adding additional flour as needed. You want your dough sticking to itself, not your fingers.
- 3
Place a piece of parchment paper on cookie sheet. Form the dough into a long loaf shape on cookie sheet. I make mine go corner to corner so it fits the pan better. Cover with a towel and let sit on the counter or stovetop for 40 minutes.
- 4
Set the oven to 425 F while the dough is rising.
- 5
After 40 minutes, cut shallow slits in the top of the loaf. This allows the steam to escape so it can rise better. I like to oil the top of the loaf so it looks nicer.
- 6
Throw a few ice cubes into the oven when you put the bread in. This also helps it rise better. After placing bread in oven, lower temperature to 400 F. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
- 7
Remove from oven and cool on a rack.

This is a bread that I'm really proud of.✿ If it isn't expanding during the second rise and doesn't reach the top of the pan, just give up and make round-top bread.✿ If you over-rise you'll get a coarse grain and it won't be fluffy.
