BBQ Beef Brisket

This BBQ Beef Brisket is beyond scrumptious. I got the beef and bbq sauce at the Easton Bristol Food Assembly ...an awesome space where farmers and customers come together to eat, laugh, be merry, and sell/buy food (check it out -- https://thefoodassembly.com/en). I bought this brisket from Model Farm shop, the ultimate Stout bbq sauce from Gingerbeard's preserves, brussel sprouts from the Square Farm Shop, and microgreens (YUM) from Grow Bristol CIC. All sourced locally. This is the story of what I did with all of them. #foodassembly

Steps
- 1
Prep the meat. Mix together that paprika, black pepper, salt, brown sugar, cumin and chili flakes. Rub it onto the meat until fully covered. Rub 50ml of BBQ sauce onto the meat as well. Boom, you're ready. Put it in a plastic bag and refrigerate that bad boy for 30min - 12 hours.
- 2
In a bowl stir together the rest of the BBQ sauce, worcestershire sauce, and some water (optional). Dump into the bottom of a slow cooker, or a roasting pan.
- 3
Lay the beautiful brisket into the sauce mixture. With a spoon, ladle some sauce over the brisket.
- 4
In a slow cooker: Cook this bad boy on low until the brisket is soft and tender....about 3 hours. If you like your beef a bit more cooked through, 4-5 hours should do it. Some recipes recommend 6 to 7 hours...you will need to judge it based on the size of the brisket you have.
- 5
If you are cooking in the oven....150 C for 1 1/2 hours. Again judge it based on the brisket size. Just cook until it is fork-tender.
- 6
Take the brisket out and slice that gorgeous thing! Enjoy with some delicious veggies....
- 7
Microgreens!
- 8
Brussels sprouts! I ended up slicing these in half and roasting them in a pan until crispy on the outside.
