Wash the edamame. Bring 4 cups (1 liter) of water to a boil in a pot, add 1 teaspoon salt, and boil the edamame for 4 minutes.

Drain the edamame in a colander and let excess water drain off.

Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a frying pan. Sauté the minced garlic and red pepper flakes until fragrant, then add the edamame and stir-fry over high heat for 1 minute.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Black pepper is especially recommended!
