Wash and soak rice in water for half an hour. Bring 1 cup of water to boil in a pot. Drain out water from the rice and add in the boiling water. Add ¼ tsp salt. Cook un covered on slow heat till you see that the water has almost burnt out. Cover the pot. Place a tawa underneath and allow to cook on dum till the all the water is burnt. Turn off the stove and let the rice rest allowing it to puff further. Take it out in a plate to cool.

Heat up oil in a pan. Fry garlic and onion bulbs for a few seconds. Add carrot, beans and salt. Cook on low flame for a few seconds allowing the veggies to cook. Add rice and the spring onion greens. Combine everything well. It's ready!

I served it with chilli potatoes and soup.
