Cooking Instructions
- 1
Pour water into the bowl you want to use. Add something to serve as 'dashi.' For example, 'Niboshi' (dried fish), 'dried shiitake,' 'Katsuobushi,' or 'Konbu.' If you don't have any, it's okay.
- 2
Add vegetables you like. Today, I add carrots, potatoes, and onion.
Green peppers and eggplants are also very common to add to miso soup. Canned tuna, eggs, and canned sardines are also very good.
- 3
Bring the water to a boil over high heat. When the vegetables are ready, add miso and mix gently.
It's ready!

Our Family's Miso Soup Our Family's Miso Soup
I don't use miso with dashi, so I've always made miso soup this way.The reason for turning the heat off at Step 2 is to prevent the ingredients in the soup from becoming over-cooked, which would make the soup too rich. The sake dissipates while cooking, so it's fine to serve this soup to children. If you are using miso with dashi already mixed in, you can omit the dashi granules.Adjust the amount of miso to your taste, but I recommend adding a little more than you're used to! For 2 servings. Recipe by Sarami19 cookpad.japan -
