Ingredients

25 minutes
2 persons
  1. 1/4 cupjau
  2. 2 cups full fat milk
  3. 1 tsp clarified butter / ghee
  4. A few Almonds
  5. 1/4 cup cream (malai)
  6. A pinch cardamom powder
  7. 1 tbsp Rooh Afza

Steps

25 minutes
  1. 1

    Soak the jau (Barley) overnight.

    Next morning, remove the soaked water & add fresh water in jau (Barley) & pressure cook it up to 4 whistles. Open the pressure cooker once the pressure is released.

    Now heat clarified butter in a pan, saute the chopped almonds in it. Add jau (Barley) in it. Saute till pink🩷 in colour.Cover & cook for 8 - 10 minutes. It will thicken. Add cardamom powder.

    Add hot milk in it & mix very well till no lumps remain. Cover & cook for 8 - 10 minutes or till required consistency is attained.

    Switch off the flame. Cool the Kheer completely. Finally add Rooh Afza & mix well.

    Chill thoroughly. Pour Pink 🩷 Lady Dessert in serving bowls. Garnish with Rooh Afza dots & dry fruits. Serve chilled & enjoy this beautiful Pink 🩷 Lady Dessert with your loved ones.

    Note. : As we have added Rooh Afza, there is no need to add extra sugar.Even Diabetic persons can have this Pink 🩷 Lady Dessert but in moderation.

    Note : As Jau (Barley) is a hard grain, it is always better to soak it overnight & pressure cook it next day up to 4 whistles or till the grain is soft.
