A quick and simple recipe, full of flavours, where mutton is cooked in a pressure cooker first along with a masala potli and other ingredients

In a pressure cooker add cleaned mutton, ingredients given for masala potli tied in a muslin cloth
- 2
Sliced onion, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 2 tej patta and salt, along with 4 green chillies and whole garlic pods, pressure cook until cooked

Heat up ghee in a broad vessel, add ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste.

Strain the mutton pieces from its stock, reserve the stock. discard masala potli and whole garlic, you can also squeeze out garlic pulp and use it in the frying masala

Add strained mutton pieces to the pan, add cumin seeds and whole pepper, 2 tej patta and remaining 4 whole green chillies

Add previously soaked basmati rice, salt, garam masala powder and fried onions
- 7
Measure stock, if it is less than 2 ltrs add hot water, add it to the rice. Add javitri and nutmeg powder
- 8
Cook it for 5 minutes on high flame, add lemon juice, lower the flame, cook it covered until done and water is absorbed. Give it a gentle stir.

Ready to serve.
