Stuffed Grape Leaves (My Way)

Steps
- 1
First, heat a pot with a little oil. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they become soft and translucent.
- 2
Once the onions are softened, pour in the tomato juice and add the tomato paste if your tomatoes are light in color. Let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 3
Next, season with salt, black pepper, and cumin to taste. Add the chopped herbs and rice, then mix well.
- 4
After the mixture has cooled, start stuffing the grape leaves. Line the bottom of a baking dish with a few grape leaves and drizzle with 2 tablespoons of oil.
- 5
To stuff, place a small amount of rice mixture on each grape leaf (don’t overfill, as the rice will expand while cooking).
- 6
Roll up the grape leaves tightly.
- 7
Arrange the stuffed grape leaves in the pot, packing them snugly. This helps them cook evenly and makes it easier to remove them after cooking.
- 8
Place a heatproof plate or lid on top of the stuffed grape leaves before covering the pot. This keeps them from floating and helps them hold their shape.
- 9
Pour the broth over the stuffed grape leaves, gently shake the pot so the broth seeps in, then reduce the heat to low.
- 10
Here’s how they look after cooking. Enjoy! Try this sautéing method for delicious results!
