Ingredients

2 hrs 15 mins
120ml date syrup
  1. 250 gmedjool dates
  2. 480 mlhot water
  3. 10 mlcream (optional)

Steps

2 hrs 15 mins
  1. 1

    Soak the dates in hot water for 2 hours.

    Mash the dates inside the water using your hands, until a thick paste is formed.

  3. 3

    Strain the mixture through a sieve and extract as much moisture out as possible.

    Simmer and reduce the sauce over medium heat, until you reach your desired consistency. Add cream if you wish.

    Keep the leftover dates, you can use them as a jam or add them to another recipe as a sweetener!
