#CA2025 I can always stretch a pound of meat with pasta and have enough for unexpected visitors. If you are happy with the spice in your Marinara leave out the spices listed. If you don't have ziti pasta use what you have. If you don't have sausage use ground beef or shredded chicken.

Ingredients

  1. 1 (16 ounce)Zita pasta
  2. 1 poundmild Italian sausage casings removed
  3. 1onion chopped
  4. 2 (24 ounce)jars of Marinara sauce
  5. 8 ouncessliced provolone cheese
  6. 2 cloveschopped garlic
  7. 8 ounces (2 cups)shredded mozzarella cheese
  8. 1 1/2 cupssour cream
  9. 1 1/2 teaspoonsitalian seasoning
  10. as neededSalt and pepper

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook 8-10 minutes or until al dente, drain

    In large skillet, brown sausage and onion; add garlic and cook 30 seconds til fragrant. Drain excess grease and return to pan.

    Stir pasta sauce into meat mixture and simmer 15 minutes.

    Butter a 9 x 13 baking dish. Spread 1/2 of the ziti in bottom of dish.

    Top pasta with provolone cheese slices.

    Fold italian seasoning in the sour cream and spread over cheese

  7. 7

    Add remaining ziti and meat sauce, top with mozzarella cheese.

  8. 8

    Cover with aluminum foil and bake in oven 30 minutes until heated through and cheese is melted. Remove foil last 10 minutes of baking to brown melted cheese. Allow to cool 5-10 minutes before serving.
