Lately, I've been obsessed with making shaped steamed buns. I've always wanted to take an online class, but I also don't want to break my streak of learning to bake without spending any money 😂

Lately, I've been obsessed with making shaped steamed buns. I've always wanted to take an online class, but I also don't want to break my streak of learning to bake without spending any money 😂

Divide the filling into 6 portions, roll each into a ball, and refrigerate until ready to use.

Mix the dough ingredients until smooth. I used a mixer and a pasta roller, but if kneading by hand, repeatedly roll out and fold the dough until the inside is fine and smooth when cut. (This time I didn't roll it as much, so it wasn't as smooth 🤣)

Divide the dough into 6 pieces (40g each; the rest is for decoration). Roll each piece into a circle with a thick center and thin edges. Place a portion of filling in the center, wrap it up, and roll into a ball.

Take 3g of dough, roll into a ball, flatten it, and place it on top of the round bun.

Take 1g of dough, roll into a ball to make the teapot lid.

Take 3.5g of dough, roll into a log, flatten one end.

Attach it to the teapot as the handle, with the flattened end at the bottom.

Take 2.5g of dough, roll into a log, flatten one end to make the teapot spout.

Use a skewer to poke a hole in the spout.

Let the buns rise at 100°F (38°C) for 40 minutes.

Once the water is boiling, steam the buns for 17 minutes, then let them sit with the lid on for 3 minutes.
