Steps

Take a kadai and add the dal along with some salt and water for boiling. Dont add too much water, just the required amount for boiling. Now let it boil until its 90 percent done. Remove the dal in a vessel. Keep the excess water aside.

Now fry the garlic pods in mustard oil under its turns completely mushy. Now keep this aside too.

Now fry the onion slices with some salt (1 full onion) and keep it aside too.

Now in the prawns add some salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Mix everything well and fry them too. Now remove them and keep it aside.

Now everything is ready to mix. Add sugar and chopped coriander too. Mix everything well with your hands including prawns. Mash everything properly. Add some salt and 2 tbsp of mustard oil and mix everything well.

Add some more mustard oil on top of it. Your dal-chingri bhorta is now ready to serve. Serve it with some steamed rice. Tastes heaven.
