Oats Paneer Tikki

Oats Paneer Tikki is a healthy, high-protein, and fiber-rich appetizer that tastes delicious even without onions and garlic. Grated paneer, oats, carrot, bell pepper, and mild spices are mixed together to make tikkis, which are then shallow-fried in just 2 teaspoons of ghee. This snack is perfect for light hunger or as a party appetizer. I haven’t added onions, but you can add finely chopped onions, beans, or any vegetables you like. I used homemade cream to soak the oats, but you can also use yogurt, which gives a slightly tangy taste. Paneer helps bind the mixture well, so I didn’t add besan (chickpea flour), bread crumbs, or corn flour, but you can add them if you wish. You can also use boiled, mashed potatoes instead of paneer. I made these healthy tikkis using just a little ghee, but you can shallow-fry or deep-fry them as you prefer.

Steps
- 1
To make Oats Paneer Tikki, first gather all the ingredients on your kitchen counter. Put the oats in a large bowl, add cream or fresh yogurt, mix well, and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- 2
Add the finely chopped vegetables to the oats and mix well.
- 3
Add salt, black pepper, and cumin powder.
- 4
Add red chili powder and mix everything well to form a dough. Take small portions and shape them into tikkis of your preferred size.
- 5
Heat a skillet on the stove and add ghee. Place the prepared tikkis on the skillet.
- 6
After a while, flip the tikkis, add a little more ghee, and cook, turning occasionally, until they are golden and crispy on both sides.
- 7
Remove the cooked tikkis to a serving plate and serve with green chutney.
