After the 5 day festive days, there's nothing more conforting than the humble khichdi.
This khichdi is offered to Shri Krishna on the Nand mahotsav day.

First, ready all the ingredients. Wash, dry and roast the mung dal on slow gas for 3-4 minutes. Chop and ready all the vegetables. Wash and soak the rice for 10 minutes.

In a cooker take ghee and oil. Add in all whole spices. Add in hing and the hard vegetables - potatoes and carrots. Saute for 2 minutes. Add in all other vegetables.

Add in salt and haldi. Mix well.

Add in the roasted mung dal. Mix for 1 minute. Add in the soaked rice with the water used for soaking. Add in total 4 cups of water.

Mix. Cook to 2 whistles on fast gas and the simmer for 4 minutes. When cooker cools down completely, open to get aromatic delicious Prashaadi Khichdi. Remove the bay leaves, offer to Shri Krishna and serve.
