Ingredients

30-40 minutes
4-6 people
  1. 2 pounds- Chicken breasts
  2. 1 stick- Salted butter
  3. 1/3 cupall-purpose flour
  4. 1 quart- Chicken broth
  5. To taste: Salt, Pepper, onion & garlic powder

Steps

30-40 minutes
  1. 1

    Start a pan of water on stove and turn on high.

  2. 2

    Cut chicken into 1/2 inch - 1 inch pieces.

  3. 3

    Once water is boiling, put chicken in. Turn down heat a bit so water doesn't boil out of pan.

  4. 4

    In another pot on stove, melt butter. Once it's melted and starts to bubble, add in flour.

  5. 5

    Keep whisking together until well combined.
    (Keep whisking so flour doesn't burn on bottom of pan.)

  6. 6

    When flour/butter mixture is combined and bubbling some, add in chicken broth and whisk together. (Mixture will thicken and start to bubble.) Add seasonings.

  7. 7

    When chicken is done, put it in a large bowl and shred. (Use a hand mixer and it shreds it fast & perfectly!)

  8. 8

    Place chicken back into gravy mixture and stir.

  9. 9

    Toast bread slices and ladle gravy/chicken on top of each.
