Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cut the broccoli into florets, soak in salt water to remove any worms. Rinse well. Boil water, add the broccoli to the boiling water until slightly softened, remove and soak in ice/cold water, then drain.
- 2
Boil 1/2 cup (100 ml) of water, then add the scallops and a pinch of salt. Boil briefly until cooked. Remove and drain. Save the remaining boiling water for the sauce.
- 3
Mix the sauce ingredients with the remaining scallop boiling water until dissolved.
- 4
Heat the oil, sauté the garlic and ginger until fragrant, then add the sauce mixture, sugar, sesame oil, and white pepper powder. Dissolve the cornstarch in water, then pour into the sauce, cook until boiling, thickened, and the sauce is clear and glossy.
- 5
Arrange the broccoli on a serving plate, place the scallops on top, then pour the sauce over.
- 6

Broccoli with Fluffy Omelette and Ankake Sauce Broccoli with Fluffy Omelette and Ankake Sauce
I wanted to make a hearty dish with broccoli. The broccoli here is easier to eat if it's tender. In Step 3, let the sauce come to a boil again after adding the katakuriko dissolved in water. In addition, if the egg gets stuck to the bottom of the pan it will burn, so stir it up gently to prevent that. This is also delicious eaten with some pepper or ra-yu. Broccoli with Silken Tofu Sauce Broccoli with Silken Tofu Sauce
I like to try various delicious ways of eating broccoli when it's in season. The sauce is on the salty side. The broccoli tastes best if you quickly blanch it so that it's still firm. It's very satisfying, but if you want to make it richer, you can lightly saute the broccoli and mix crab sticks or finely shredded shrimp into the sauce. Recipe by Hoink cookpad.japan -
