Ingredients

  • 1 KilogramChicken (Boiled)
  • 1 CupCurry Leaves
  • 1 CupCoconut
  • 1 TablespoonGinger Garlic Paste
  • 6Shallot Onion / Small
  • 1Tomato chopped
  • 1/2 TablespoonChilli Powder
  • 1 TablespoonGaram Masala
  • 6Cashewnuts
  • 1 Tablespooncumin
  • 1 TablespoonPeppercorns
  • and 2 ClovesCinnamon Cardamom ,
  • 1Bayleaf
  • 1 TeaspoonFennel Seed
  • 6 Tablespoonsoil
  • To Tastesalt
  • 1 TablespoonCoriander leaves chopped

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan, add cumin, peppercorns, shallots, coconut, curry leaves and saute for 2 - 4 minutes. Allow it to cool, add cashew nuts and grind it. Keep the ground paste aside.

  2. 2

    In a pan, heat the remaining oil. Add mustard (after it splutters) add cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf, fennel seeds, Ginger Garlic Paste,chopped tomato and saute for 2 mins.

    Add ground paste, garam masala, chilli powder, water, boiled chicken and salt. Allow it to cook in low heat for 10 - 15 mins. When the curry becomes thick, add chopped coriander leaves and serve it with plain rice.

  4. 4

    You can also prepare it as a side dish for dosa, idly, naan, poori and paratha.
