Ingredients

  1. 2 cupstoor dal
  2. 2 numbersonion medium size
  3. 8 - 10 clovesgarlic chopped
  4. 3 - 4 numberstomatoes
  5. 2 teaspoonsmustard seed
  6. 1 teaspoonjeera
  7. 2ajwain tea
  8. 1 teaspoonasafoetida hing /
  9. 6 - 8 numberscurry leaves
  10. 2 tablespoonscurry powder
  11. 1 - 2 teaspoonsturmeric
  12. 2 teaspoonsred chilli powder
  13. 1 tablespoonkashmiri chili powder
  14. 1 tablespooncoriander
  15. 1 teaspoongarlic powder
  16. 2 tablespoonsginger garlic paste
  17. as requiredwater
  18. 2 numbersstock maggi cubes
  19. 1/3 bunchcoriander leaves choped
  20. 2 teaspoonsghee
  21. to tastesalt
  22. 1 teaspoonsugar
  23. 1 - 2 tablespoonstomato sauce

Steps

  1. 1

    PPressure cook the washed dal with e enough amount to Cook the dal. Add a pinch of salt and turmeric and ccurry powder till 3 whistles.

    In a pan,sauté the  mustard,jeera,curry leaves and hing.

  3. 3

    Add the ginger garlic paste and masalas. Mix  well. Add the garlic. Saute wrll. Add onions, sauté till brown. Add the garlic powder,cuurry powder,tomato sauce, mix.

  4. 4

    Add chopped tomatoes.and stir well. Now add the dal along with its water.

  5. 5

    Add the stock cubes,salt and sugar.

  6. 6

    Add enough water again. Cook for yet another 10 minutes.

  7. 7

    Add the coriander leaves, and ghee on top.

  8. 8

    Serve hot with roti or rice!
