Cook the chena /yam with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and 1/2 a cup of water.

Grind the ingredients mentioned above to a smooth paste. Finally add yoghurt to this mixture and have a stir. Keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan and do the tempering. Pour this to the curry.Switch off the stove,but don't remove from the stove. Add the yoghurt mixture to this and keep stirring till the mixture is just warm and not boiling.

Serve hot with rice.
