Take all ingredients mentioned under the tag 'Dry Ingredients' into a small bowl. Mix them well with the help of a whisk and keep aside.

Now in a big bowl add butter and sugar. Whisk them till sugar gets completely dissolved. Add 1 egg, lightly beaten, into the mixture. Whisk till the egg mixture is incorporated well. Add milk, lemon juice and essence; mix well.

Now add dry ingredients mixture from the small bowl; mix carefully. When dough forms, keep this dough in the fridge for 3 to 4 hours. Then remove the dough and divide it into 9 equal parts.

Roll each ball in the icing sugar and keep it on the lined oven tray. Preheat the oven at 160oC for 10 minutes. Bake these cookies for 12 to 15 minutes.
