Thatta
Tea time snack!
Steps
- 1
Soak 2 tbsps of chickpeas, channa dal, and black gram in water separately for at least an hour.
- 2
Roast the remaining chickpeas and let them cool. Once cooled, grind these into fine powder.
- 3
Mix the rice flour, black gram, channa dal, and the roasted chickpea flour together.
- 4
Add the salt, butter, red chilli powder, and asafoetida powder.
- 5
Knead it into a dough adding enough water. The dough must have the consistency as shown.
- 6
Take a lemon sized dough and flatten it using your palm or using a flat bottomed container.
- 7
Heat a pan with oil.
- 8
When the oil is hot, drop the flattened dough into oil and fry both sides, till the sizzling sound of the oil subsides. Remember to keep the flame in medium.
- 9
Prick the flattened dough with a fork, to avoid it raising, before adding it to oil.
