Ingredients

1 hour 30 minutes
Serves 5 servings
  • 1 lbred beans
  • 1 lbground meat of your choice
  • leavesbay
  • 1onion
  • 3 clovesgarlic
  • 1/2 teaspoonCoban chili powder (or substitute with your favorite chili powder)
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 8 1/2 cupswater (2 liters)
  • salt, to taste
  • 1 cuptomato sauce (ranch-style, or your favorite)
  • 1/2bell pepper
  • 2green onions
  • chopped parsley
  • oil

Steps

1 hour 30 minutes

    First, soak the beans overnight.

    Cook the beans in 8 1/2 cups water (2 liters) for 30 minutes, adding the onion, garlic, and a bay leaf for flavor, in a pressure cooker. Set aside.

    Finely chop the green onion stems, bell pepper, and onion.

    In a skillet, add a drizzle of oil. Add the vegetables and ground meat, and cook for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, and add bay leaves.

    When the meat is cooked, add the tomato sauce and chili powder to taste. Let it cook for another 10 minutes. Finally, add the chopped parsley and it's ready.
