Ingredients

1 hour
4 servings
  • 250 gm Refined flour
  • 150 ml. Water
  • 9 gm. Yeast(active)
  • 5 gm. Salt
  • 24 gms Sugar(Grain/Caster)
  • 12 gms. Milk powder
  • 24 ml. Butter/oil

Steps

    Preheat the oven at 180 C (356 F)

  2. 2

    Measure refined flour and milk powder together in a mixing bowl, add yeast and sugar in the water and let it dissolve. keep butter/oil and salt aside.

    Mix in the refined flour,milk powder and slowly add water(dissolved with yeast and sugar) keep kneading it for about 5 minutes.

    Add butter/oil to the dough and continue kneading, once all the fat(butter/oil) mixes in homogeneously, add salt and knead for about 1 minute.

    Once the dough is ready, apply oil to your hand to avoid stickiness and make a round with the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes. Cover the dough with damp cloth.

    Meanwhile, get your baking tray ready, brush minimal oil to the tray and its ready, you may use butter paper too.

  7. 7

    After resting, remove the cloth and you will see dough has become double in size,Nothing to worry about its yeast that's working.

    Now with the help of scraper cut the dough into equal pieces (precisely 30gms each),You may use weighing scale to make sure all the measurements are right.

    Roll them in your hand, Make sure the rounds are intact leaving no space at the bottom. Place them gently on the baking tray keeping some space between two soft rolls, Spray/dabble gently some water on the soft rolls and place the tray on top of the oven for 15 minutes.Process is called proofing.

    Once proofing is done,brush milk and sugar mixture on the soft rolls to ensure good color and texture. place the tray in the oven and let it bake for about 30 minutes. Change the side after 15 minutes.

    Bring them out from the oven and let them cool, always check the bottom of the roll(golden brown) to ensure perfect cooking.

    Now they are ready to go with any dish, soup to sauces to pasta on the side.
