Ingredients

  1. 1 kgHake
  2. 500 mlVinegar
  3. 3Onions
  4. 10 mlMixed Pickling Spice
  5. 15 mlMaizena
  6. 1 mlCurry Powder
  7. 3 mlCayenne Pepper
  8. 375 mlWater (250ml & 125ml)
  9. 10 mlTurmeric
  10. 15 mlSugar

Steps

  1. 1

    Fry hake in batter until golden

  2. 2

    Boil sliced onions in vinegar, 250ml water & 10ml pickling spice for 5min

  3. 3

    Add the remaining dry ingredients with another 125ml water and simmer for 3 minutes

  4. 4

    Pour mixture over fish & allow to stand for 2-3 days
