#healthyjunior - Jowar, in general, is a gluten-free grain with a lot of health benefits as it contains, iron, fiber and proteins. Besides tikkis, it can also be served as pakoras, chaat or salads. The choice is yours.

Anyway, never ever imagined that these tender jowar (sorghum) grains would taste so yummy when made into tikkis. Serve them as appetizers with tomato ketchup or green chutney.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cuptender jowar (sorghum)
  2. 1/2 cupsev
  3. 1medium potato, boiled & mashed
  4. to tastesalt
  5. pinchturmeric powder
  6. 2 tbsp.fried onions
  7. 2green chilies, chopped (opt)
  8. 1 tsp.ginger, grated
  9. 1/2 tsp.roasted cumin powder
  10. 1/2-1 tsp.red chilli flakes (opt)
  11. pinchbaking soda
  12. 2-3 tbsp.coriander leaves, chopped
  13. 1 tsp.lime juice
  14. oil to shallow fry

Steps

  1. 1

    In a bowl, combine all the above mentioned ingredients (except oil) and

    Form into round shaped tikkis.

    Heat oil in a pan and fry the tikkis, few at a time on both sides till light golden in colour.

    Serve them hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney.
