Ingredients

  1. cake
  2. 2 stickbutter, 4 ounces each. Room temperature
  3. 1/4 cupshortening
  4. 3 cupgranulated sugar
  5. 1/4 cupsour cream
  6. 1/4 cuphoney
  7. 2 tsppure vanilla extract
  8. 5 largeeggs
  9. 3/4 cupwhole milk
  10. 1/4 tspsalt
  11. 3 3/4 cupall-purpose flour
  12. 2/3 tspbaking powder
  13. 1 1/2 cupchopped pecans

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350°F.

    Grease and flour a 10" tube pan, set aside.

    In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, shortening and sugar until creamy. About 3 minutes.

    Beat in the sour cream, honey, vanilla.

  5. 5

    Beat in the eggs, one at a time until full incorporated.

  6. 6

    Now mix in milk.

  7. 7

    Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder.

  8. 8

    Slowly mix into wet ingredients until just blended.

    Fold in the chopped pecans.

    Pour cake mixture into pan and bake on a baking tray for 2 hours. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center and it comes out clean.

    Cool in pan for 10 minutes then remove.

    Serve with fresh whipped cream and a drizzle of honey. Delicious!
