6 servings
  1. 29 ozCanned Tomato Puree
  2. 1/4Minced White Onion
  3. 1Minced Carrot
  4. 4 tspSalt
  5. 1/2 tspDried Thyme
  6. 5 cloveCrushed Garlic
  7. 1/2 tspDried Rosemary
  8. 1/4 tspDried Oregano
  9. 4Bay Leaves
  10. 2 tbspGranulated Sugar (optional)
  11. 1/4 cupRed Wine
  12. 1 cupWater
  13. 8Fresh Basil Leaves

Steps

  1. 1

    Pour all ingredients, EXCEPT basil, into slow cooker, stir, cover, and cook on low for 10 hours.

  2. 2

    After cooking is complete, add one cup of sauce and basil leaves to a blender. Blend until smooth and return to rest of sauce.

  3. 3

    Serve over pasta, in lasagna, or any way you like.
