Cooking Instructions

With the wrapping plastic cover all the interior of the mold./ Cubrir el interior del molde con el plástico.

Grate all the veggies with a chesee grater in the medium size. /Rallar la verdura de mediano a grande.

Squeeze and drain the cucumber and the jicama very very well./ Escurrir y exprimir muy bien la jicama y el pepino para que no suelte jugo y aguade o queme el pastel

With a spoon spread the first layer of carrot and push with the back of a spoon pressing down until everything is really really tight. Repeat this step with the cucumber and jicama. Adding a little salt to each layer./ Con una cuchara esparcir la primera capa de verdura agregando un poco de sal por capa, con la parte posterior de la cuchara presionar firmente hasta que quede compactado y apretado. Repetir este paso cada capa que se vaya utilizar.

Keep it in a refrigerator for a couple of hours. Take it out and if possible very carefully drain any excess liquid remaining and press the cake again. Un mold the cake and take off the wrapper./ Meter al refrigerador un par de horas, sacar y drenar con mucho cuidado el líquido que saque la verdura y presionar para apretar de nuevo la verdura. Desmoldear y quitar el plástico.

Add the gummys or spicy candy around to decorate./ Agrega el chacachaca, pica piña, checolines o los dulces que vayas a ponerle encima y decoralo con esto.

Squize the lemon juice around and the liquid and powder chamoy abundantly or to your taste./ Exprime el limon y agrega el chamoy en polvo y líquido al gusto, Chile piquin o cualquier salsita que quieras ponerle.

I haven’t eaten carrot cake in so long, usually I can only have one bite of normal cake without problems, I was craving a carrot cake so I adapted a recipe I found on the 101 Cooking for Two blog.This recipe is #lowfat with about 12.1 grams of fat per serving. If you leave out the walnuts it reduces to 7.1 grams of fat per serving. #vegan options.The original recipe calls for coconut flakes but I don’t like coconut so I left them out. It also calls for eggs but I used flax seed instead. Next time I might try 1/4 or 1/3 of an egg white.The original recipe also calls for crushed pineapple instead of applesauce so you could experiment with that. wgreen39 -

I was wondering if I could make my own yogurt egg jelly cake, so I tried making it. The fluffy and juicy texture is the best . The taste is extremely simple lol. When I increased the amount of egg yolk and added in honey, it plumps up nicely, but overall it is better to just leave the ingredients for the yogurt egg jelly as-is . I rewrote the recipe because I learned that it might swell up and then shrivel too much in December 2008, so I added memos in the steps.*12.2008* I received a tip that this will swell up and then shrivel. I bought a hand mixer, and understood the reason when I tried using it. It seems that overwhipping the eggs seems to be the source of the problem. After adding in the skim milk in Step 2, using a hand mixer to whip it even at a low speed will overwhip it and make the meringue hard. For those of you using a hand mixer, please use an egg beater in Step 2 without using the hand mixer and please just lightly mix it. When I was living in England, I received this spiced carrot cake numerous times during the Christmas season. I got a friend to teach me the recipe. The original version was sweeter, but I took the liberty of reducing the sugar and oil, but for the most-part the steps and ingredients are true to the original.Generally speaking, if you use margarine rather than butter, there is no need to add salt.In Step 1 when sifting the dry ingredients, exclude the almond powder.In Step 6, the longer the batter rests, the richer and tastier it becomes. I actually made this cake for Valentine's day. I mean Valentine's day is too overfilled with chocolate and heart shapes. Sometimes we just need a simple cake like this. Unlike all the carrot cakes which I'd tasted, there're actually carrots in this cake. Those commercial cakes are usually filled with food coloring and artificial flavorings. To make the cake worse, they used over-sugary cream cheese fillings which kinda make the cakes unbearable to eat, IMHO.As you should have known, I am not a fan of cakes. So, if I have to eat a cake, it has to be my way; dense, moist, fudgy and custardy without over the top sweetness or frosting. Bruno Albouze seems to have what I am looking for. There are a few names to call the honeycomb: honeycomb toffee, hokey pokey or cinder toffee. It is like a science experiment when the baking soda is added. I also decided to keep my cake 100% vegan, cos it is one of my goals for 2019; to push out at least 1 vegan recipe a week. In closing, I really hope you will give this recipe a try.
