Homemade Ground Beef Picadillo

Heat a pot over medium heat and add a splash of oil. Once hot, add the diced onion and sauté until translucent.

Add the ground beef and cook with the onion, stirring until the beef is fully cooked.

Meanwhile, blend the tomatoes, morita chiles, garlic, onion, and water for 1 minute until smooth.

Once the beef is cooked, add the sauce, oregano, and bay leaves. Stir and cook for 3 minutes. Add salt to taste. (You can also add the tomato sauce if desired.)

Add the carrots, potato, and peas. Stir, taste, and adjust salt if needed. Cook for 5 more minutes.

Serve and enjoy with white rice.
