Ingredients

30 minutes
Serves 5 - 6 servings
  1. 1 lbground beef (about 450 grams)
  2. 2carrots, diced
  3. 1large potato, diced
  4. 1small can peas
  5. 1/2 tablespoondried oregano
  6. 5bay leaves
  7. 1small box tomato sauce (optional)
  8. 1/2onion, diced
  9. Salt, to taste
  10. For the sauce:
  11. 3tomatoes
  12. 2dried morita chiles (optional)
  13. 1garlic clove
  14. 1/4onion
  15. 1/2 cupwater (120 ml)

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Heat a pot over medium heat and add a splash of oil. Once hot, add the diced onion and sauté until translucent.

  2. 2

    Add the ground beef and cook with the onion, stirring until the beef is fully cooked.

  3. 3

    Meanwhile, blend the tomatoes, morita chiles, garlic, onion, and water for 1 minute until smooth.

  4. 4

    Once the beef is cooked, add the sauce, oregano, and bay leaves. Stir and cook for 3 minutes. Add salt to taste. (You can also add the tomato sauce if desired.)

  5. 5

    Add the carrots, potato, and peas. Stir, taste, and adjust salt if needed. Cook for 5 more minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve and enjoy with white rice.
