Ingredients

  1. Pork Balls
  2. 450 gramsPork mince
  3. 1Egg
  4. 1Red or green chili
  5. 3 mediumSpring Onions
  6. 1 pinchCelery Powder (optional)
  7. 1 pinchSalt & Pepper
  8. Sticky sauce
  9. 6 cloveGarlic
  10. 1 dashSherry
  11. 1 tbspHoney
  12. 1 pinchWhite pepper
  13. 1 tbsptomato pure'
  14. 1/4 cupDark soy sauce ( I use reduced salt soy when cooking for the kids)
  15. 1-2" of Fresh Ginger
  16. 1 pinchGround star anise
  17. Garnish
  18. 1Spring onion
  19. 1Chili
  20. 1sesame seed

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven medium to hot, 180-220c

  2. 2

    Finely chop the Spring onion

  3. 3

    Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl.Work the pork mince, this releases gluten and helps the balls stay together when cooking.

    Shape into rounds and put into freezer for 5 mins. You should get around 12 ping pong sized balls

    Finely chop garlic & ginger

  6. 6

    Add all sauce ingredients in a small bowl

  7. 7

    Fry the balls on a medium heat until brown and finish of in preheated oven for 10 mins or until cooked through

    Take out from oven and on a high heat fry balls with the sauce until it has thickened and coats the balls. Becareful not to burn the sauce it will turn bitter

  9. 9

    Garnish and serve with Rice , noodles or a salad for a summer lunch
