Guinness Beer Tiramisu

This comes from the traditional Italian Tiramisu recipe, but I used Guinness instead of coffee. Any other stout beer will do just fine.

This comes from the traditional Italian Tiramisu recipe, but I used Guinness instead of coffee. Any other stout beer will do just fine.
Cooking Instructions

Separate yolks from egg whites
- 2
Beat yolks with half of the sugar
- 3
Add mascarpone cheese to the yolks and stir
- 4
Beat egg whites gently adding the rest of the sugar; keep beating until stiff
- 5
Gently mix the two above (yolks and whites) together, using a spoon from below upwards

Put a first thin layer of custard at the bottom of your casserole
- 7
Soak each ladyfinger in Guinness for just a second
- 8
Create a layer of ladyfinger upon the custard one
- 9
Cover with custard
- 10
Second ladyfingers layer!

Cover again with our Tiramisu custard
- 12
Sprinkle cocoa powder all over and put Tiramisu in the refrigerator for 2 hours before eating

This recipes is the result of a lot of trial and error. I've been making this for the past 10 years. This time, I made it for my hubby's 40th birthday.The strawberry compote is just a mix of strawberries and sugar simmered together. You could also make this the traditional way and sprinkle cocoa powder on top. I topped it with strawberry compote based on my hubby's request.
