Ingredients

  • 1 cupSoaked rice/ chawal -
  • 2.5 cupWater/ pani -
  • 1 cupCurd/ dahi -
  • 1 tablespoonFor Tadka - Ghee -
  • 1/2 teaspoonMustard seeds/ raai -
  • 1 tablespoonUrad dal/ white lentils -
  • 1 tablespoonPeanut/ moong fali -
  • 2Chopped green chilies/ hari mirch -
  • Curry leaves/ meetha neem - few
  • 2Red chilies/ lal mirch -
  • Chopped coriander leaves/ dhaniya patta - a handfull
  • to tasteSalt/ namak

Steps

  1. 1

    Add rice and water in a pressure cooker and cook it on high flame for 1 whistle. Switch off the flame once it is done.

  2. 2

    Take the cooked rice in a bowl.

  3. 3

    Heat ghee in a pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal and saute for 1 minute. Add peanuts and saute for 2 minutes. Add green chilies and curry leaves. Saute for few seconds and add red chilli and then switch off the flame

  4. 4

    When rice gets cooled down, add curd, tadka and salt. Mix very well and sprinkle fresh coriander leaves.

  5. 5

    Yummy 'Curd Rice' is ready to be served!!!
