Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 1 cupgrated beetroot
  2. 1 cupfresh whisked curd
  3. to tasteSalt
  4. 1/2 tspsugar (optional)
  5. For tempering
  6. 2finely chopped green chilli
  7. 1 tbsproasted cumin seeds powder
  8. 1 tspUrad dal
  9. 1 tspchana dal
  10. 5-10curry leaves
  11. 3 tspcoarsely crushed peanuts
  12. 1/2mustard seeds
  13. 1 tbspgrated ginger
  14. Pinchasafoetida
  15. Freshly chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Steps

5 minutes
  1. 1

    Mix the grated beetroot, whisked curd, sugar and salt.

  2. 2

    Keep aside

  3. 3

    For tempering heat oil in a small pan add cumin seeds, mustard seeds urad dal, and chana dal

  4. 4

    When they crackle add asafoetida, green chillies,ginger, curry leaves and peanuts

  5. 5

    Pour this on the raita

  6. 6

    Mix well

  7. 7

    Just before serving garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves
