Fry the vermicelli noodles in some oil about 2-3 tbs until lightly browned, keep stirring so that it doesn't burn.

Add the rice and salt and stir. Add the water till it covers the mixture by 1-2 cm. About 2 cups.

When the water starts boiling cover the pot and let it cook on low heat for about 20 minutes.
