Ingredients

  1. 250 gmsChicken pieces -
  2. 250gms half basmati rice -
  3. 50 gmsMawa / whole dried milk -
  4. few strandKesar / saffron -
  5. 2 Sliced onion - medium size
  6. 1 tbspCashew nuts -
  7. 1 tbspAlmond -
  8. 4Cardamom -
  9. 1-2Bay leaf -
  10. 2-3cloves
  11. 8-10Whole black pepper -
  12. to tasteSalt -
  13. 4 tbspClarified butter -
  14. 2Boiled eggs -

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat clarified butter in a pan.

    Add cashew nuts and almonds fry and strain it.

  3. 3

    Add cardamom,cloves,whole black pepper and bay leaf.

  4. 4

    Add onion slices and saute till transparent.

  5. 5

    Add chicken pieces and stir fry for 5 - 6 mins

  6. 6

    Add salt and one cup of water.

  7. 7

    When it boils add mawa/whole dried milk and mix well.

  8. 8

    Add half done boiled boiled rice and mix well.

  9. 9

    Soak the saffron in 1/2 cup of milk and mix in the rice.

  10. 10

    Cover it and cook for 5 - 7 mins in a slow flame.

  11. 11

    Garnish with boiled egg and fried almonds and cashew nuts.

  12. 12

    Serve hot.
