Ingredients

  1. 500 gramsAl alali Basbousah mix.
  2. 3/4 cupyogurt
  3. 1/3 cupcup pure Ghee

    Pre-heat oven to 350°F (180 c) or number 4. Empty all alali basbousah mix pouch in to a big bowl. Add yogurt and ghee mix until smooth.

    Let it sit for 5 minutes.

    Get a baking tray (22 cm )and Grassed with oil.

    Spread mix in to the baking tray , let it sit for 10 minutes before baking..

    With a wet knife , cut the dough in square or diamond shapes and decorate with almonds if desired.

    Bake at 350°F heat for 20 minutes. For golden basbousa place the tray at the upper level of your oven for one minute or until desired colour is reached.

    While basbousa is baking , prepare syrup by boiling one cup of sugar with half cup of water and a squeeze of lemon juice ,let the syrup cool.

    Pour cold syrup on basbousa while hot , leave it to cool before serving.
