Shahi Tukda

A traditional bread pudding or bread dessert prepared during the holy month of ramadan as iftar recipes but I made it at holi festival.It is popularly known as shahi tukda but it is also known as double ka meetha because it is soaked in sugar syrup and rabri/milkmaid.

A traditional bread pudding or bread dessert prepared during the holy month of ramadan as iftar recipes but I made it at holi festival.It is popularly known as shahi tukda but it is also known as double ka meetha because it is soaked in sugar syrup and rabri/milkmaid.

Firstly, cut the sides of bread and cut them into triangle.Fry the bread slices in hot ghee till the bread turns golden brown.keep all the fried bread side.

Mix 1/2 cup of sugar with 1/4 cup water in a pan,cook till you get a one thread consistency in the sugar syrup.Now dip the fried bread slices in the sugar syrup.

Arrange the sugar syrup soaked bread slices in a serving tray or plate,pour the rabri/milkmaid on the sugar syrup coated bread slices.

Garnish with chopped pistachios then serve shahi tukra with lots of love.
